Weder sein Agent noch die Plattenfirma. \u201eHallo, das ist Leonard Cohen\u201c. Einige Stunden sp\u00e4ter trafen wir uns in der Lobby des Hamburger Hotels Europ\u00e4ischer Hof. Das Management wollte, dass wir das Interview in einer ihrer Suiten filmen. Das war nicht richtig, nicht f\u00fcr Leonard Cohen. Also fanden wir einen leeren Raum im Hotelkeller, dem Speisesaal f\u00fcr das Personal. W\u00e4hrend die Crew die Umgebung angemessen beleuchtete, fragte ich Leonard, wo seine Gitarre sei.<\/p>\n<p>Er wusste nicht, dass er es brauchen w\u00fcrde, sagte er. Aber er ging zur\u00fcck in sein Zimmer, um es zu holen. Und wir haben an diesem Tag ein sehr magisches, unvorstellbares pers\u00f6nliches Interview aufgenommen. Da mir klar war, dass unsere 16-mm-Kamerakassette nur 10 Minuten Film enthielt, wartete ich sechs Minuten und fragte: &#8222;Warum singst du uns kein Lied, Leonard?&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Und er tat es.<\/p>\n<p>Dies ist das Ergebnis dieses magischen Tages. Leider hat jemand vom Fernsehsender einen Teil der Musik herausgeschnitten. Und ein l\u00e4cherliches Video-Wipe in den Beitrag eingef\u00fcgt. I never thought it would really happen, an interview with Canadian poet Leonard Cohen. But there was his voice, unmistakable, on the phone. Not his agent nor the record company. &#8222;Hi, this is Leonard Cohen&#8220;. A few hours later we met in the lobby of the Hamburg Hotel Europ\u00e4ischer Hof. Management wanted us to film the interview in one of their suites. That wasn&#8217;t right, not for Leonard Cohen. So we found an empty room in the hotel cellar, the dining hall for staff. While the crew lit the surrroundings appropriately, I asked Leonard where his guitar was.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>He didn&#8217;t know he would be needing it, he said. But he walked back to his room to fetch it. And we recorded a very magical, unimaginable personal interview that day. And aware our 16mm camera cassette only held 10 minutes of film, I waited six minutes and asked, &#8222;Why don&#8217;t you sing us a song, Leonard?&#8220;<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And he did.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>This is the result of that magical day. Unfortunately, some one at the TV station edited out some of the music. And inserted a ridiculous video wipe in the post.
