The title track of \u201cMy Secret Life\u201d, was recorded because \u201cLeonard Cohen\u2019s always been one of my all-time favourite singer\/songwriters\u201d, Eric says. \u201cThere were so many of his songs I wanted to cover but I think this one takes the biscuit\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In 2004 the album &#8222;My Secret Life&#8220; was released as his &#8222;comeback album&#8220;. During promotional discussions at the time, he explained why he called the album that: \u201cShortly before it was released, I was listening to an album by Leonard Cohen in the middle of the night that contained the song&#8220; In my Secret Life &#8222;. I went back to the studio and decided to include this 13th track on the album and also to name it after the song. In 1997 I photographed Eric Burdon for the Trier newspaper \u201cTrierischer Volksfreund\u201d in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In 2004 the British rock \/ blues singer, who celebrated the biggest hit of his 60 years stage career with \u201cHouse of the Rising Sun\u201d and his band The Animals, appeared on German television at ARD &#8211; ROCKPALAST and also performed Leonard Cohen&#8217;s \u201cIn My Secret Life &#8222;.<\/p>\n<p>When Cohen died in 2016, Eric Burdon posted on his socials: \u201c Very sad to hear of the passing of LEONARD COHEN. Ich ging zur\u00fcck ins Studio und beschloss diesen 13.
