F\u00fcr die einen stellt das Album das schlichte ,,Genie\u201c, f\u00fcr andere den puren ,,Wahnsinn\u201c dar. F\u00fcr die einen ist es Cohens bestes, f\u00fcr andere Cohens schlechtestes Album. Ein Dazwischen gibt es nichts. ,,Ich kann beide Positionen nachvollziehen\u201c, bekennt Cohen. W\u00e4hrend das vorherige Album geradezu gef\u00e4llig wirkte, wird ,,Death Of A Ladie`s Man\u201c gerne auch als schwer zug\u00e4nglich beschrieben. Schuld daran ist nicht Cohens nach wie vor vorhandene lyrische Tiefe, Schuld ist eher der durch Produzenten-Legende Phil Spector entstandene musikalische Bombast.<\/p>\n<p>Unter den Namen der an den Background Vocals beteiligten K\u00fcnstlern findet sich auch der von Bob Dylan. Er &#8222;schneite&#8220; ebenso wie Alan Ginsberg einfach mal im Studio vorbei und beteiligte sich bei den Chorges\u00e4ngen&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Bob Dylan singt also auf einem Album von Leonard Cohen.
