Das Marillion-Weekend fand an drei Abenden statt. \u201eThe Crow and the Nightingale\u201c wurde am zweiten Abend gespielt. Das erste von drei Konzerten wurde als \u201eAbend der Rarit\u00e4ten\u201c angek\u00fcndigt und so fanden sich unter den 20 Songs auch tats\u00e4chlich erste Songs vom \u201eClutching At Straws\u201c-Album (1987) wie z.B. ein nicht sehr oft live gespieltes \u201eWarm Wet Circles\u201c und ein \u201eThat Time of the Night (The Short Straw)\u201c aus der \u201eFish\u201c-Aera. Der Abend endete mit zwei Zugaben: \u201eThree Minute Boy\u201c sowie \u201eThis Strange Engine\u201c und einem kurzen Anspiel vom Song \u201eMontreal\u201c vom 2012er Album \u201eSounds That Can`t Be Made\u201c (2012), der auch schon auf die Begeisterung von Steve Hogarth zu Leonard Cohen hinwies. The Marillion Weekend 2023 in Montreal was all about Leonard Cohen and the album „An Hour Before It’s Dark“ (2022). It also includes Marillion’s Tribute To Leonard Cohen song „The Crow and the Nightingale“. The Marillion set at Montreal’s „L’Olympia“ featured the Leonard Cohen Mural on Crescent Street. The Marillion Weekend took place on three evenings. „The Crow and the Nightingale“ was played on the second evening. The first of three concerts was announced as an „evening of rarities“ and so among the 20 songs there were actually first songs from the „Clutching At Straws“ album (1987) such as a not very often played live „Warm Wet Circles“ and a „That Time of the Night (The Short Straw)“ from the „Fish“ era. The evening ended with two encores: „Three Minute Boy“ and „This Strange Engine“ and a short allusion to the song „Montreal“ from the 2012 album „Sounds That Can’t Be Made“ (2012), which also pointed to Steve Hogarth’s enthusiasm for Leonard Cohen.
