Die glorreichste Zeit des Zen-Zentrums war zu Zeiten, als Leonard Cohen dort jahrelang lebte und er sich \u00fcber Jahrzehnte zu seinen dortigen \u201eRetreats\u201c zur\u00fcckzog. Founded in 1971 by Leonard Cohen&#8217;s Zen master Sasaki R\u014dshi. &#8222;If there are no ZA-ZENs (mediations), teishos or other Zen-events taking place there, the monastery is quite lonely,&#8220; the Zen monk Kojo, who lives there, told me during my visit to the monastery in August 2024. The most glorious time of the Zen center was at the time when Leonard Cohen lived there for years and he withdrew for decades to his &#8222;retreats&#8220; there.
