The 2nd<\/sup> Leonard Cohen-Mural – Cooper Building – backyard of former Moishe-Restaurant. Since many Montrealers were somewhat disappointed that the first mural on Crescent Street was not placed where Leonard Cohen last lived, they looked for a solution near his home, near the Parc Du Portugal. Kevin Ledo, a mural artist from Montreal, was commissioned to paint another. It is in a small side street of the 3991 Boul. Saint-Laurent, between the grocery store „Frenco“ and the „Breizh Caf\u00e9“, on the way out of the city center towards Parc Du Portugal. It can be found on a wall behind a parking lot, but can also be spotted from the Boulevard, from the opposite side.<\/p>\n

Kevin Ledo said at the 2017 \u201cMontreal Mural Festival\u201d that a mural „depicts the darkness and energy that surrounds Leonard Cohen’s late work.“ “ For Ledo, it was the realization of a „double“ dream to paint a Cohen mural on the side wall of the nine-story Cooper Building right on St-Laurent Boulevard . “ I live around the corner here and I’ve always wanted to put a Leonard Cohen picture on this wall,“ says Ledo.<\/p>\n

Das zweite Leonard-Cohen-Wandgem\u00e4lde \u2013 Cooper Building \u2013 Hinterhof des ehemaligen Restaurants \u201eMoishe\u2019s\u201c<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Da viele Einwohner Montreals etwas entt\u00e4uscht waren, dass das erste Wandgem\u00e4lde in der Crescent Street nicht an dem Ort entstand, an dem Leonard Cohen zuletzt gelebt hatte, suchte man nach einer L\u00f6sung in der N\u00e4he seines Wohnorts, unweit des Parc du Portugal. Der aus Montreal stammende Wandmaler Kevin Ledo wurde beauftragt, ein weiteres Werk zu gestalten. Es befindet sich in einer kleinen Seitenstra\u00dfe beim Boulevard Saint-Laurent 3991, zwischen dem Lebensmittelgesch\u00e4ft \u201eFrenco\u201c und dem \u201eBreizh Caf\u00e9\u201c \u2013 auf dem Weg vom Stadtzentrum in Richtung Parc du Portugal. Das Wandgem\u00e4lde liegt an einer Mauer hinter einem Parkplatz, ist aber auch vom Boulevard aus \u2013 von der gegen\u00fcberliegenden Stra\u00dfenseite \u2013 zu sehen.<\/em><\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend des \u201eMontreal Mural Festival\u201c im Jahr 2017 erkl\u00e4rte Kevin Ledo, das Wandgem\u00e4lde \u201everanschauliche die Dunkelheit und die Energie, die Leonard Cohens Sp\u00e4twerk umgeben\u201c. F\u00fcr Ledo erf\u00fcllte sich damit ein \u201edoppelter\u201c Traum: ein Cohen-Wandgem\u00e4lde an der Seitenwand des neunst\u00f6ckigen Cooper Buildings direkt am Boulevard Saint-Laurent zu verewigen. \u201eIch wohne hier gleich um die Ecke und wollte schon immer ein Bild von Leonard Cohen an diese Wand malen\u201c, sagt Ledo.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
