Der Mann ist Profil, K\u00fcnstler und Multiinstrumentalist. In diesem Jahr wurde er 70. Vor knapp 50 Jahren erfand er zusammen mit seinen Kollegen Rick Wright, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett und Roger Waters die Psychodelic-Rock-Super-Group Pink Floyd. Mit der war er 1994 zum letzten Mal auf Tournee. Mit Roger Waters & Co. fand er als Band nie wieder zusammen. Er begeisterte sich mehr f\u00fcr seine Solo-Projekte wie z.B. sein letztes Album aus dem Jahre2015 „Rattle That Lock“. Daraus stellte Davids Gilmour bei den diesj\u00e4hrigen Jazz Open in Stuttgart vor ausverkauftem Areal (ca. 6.000 Zuschauer) einige Songs vor. Doch die Erwartungshaltung an den Mann, der zuletzt in den 80ern in Stuttgart mit Pink Floyd auftrat war eine andere. Unverhofft und unerwartet gab es unter den 23 Songs immerhin 14 aus alten Pink Floyd-Tagen, darunter auch Klassiker wie „Time“ oder „Wish You Were Here“. Drei Stunden verzauberte der eigensinnige wie eigenwillige Multi-Instrumentalist den Stuttgarter Schlossplatz mit glasklarem Sound, pink-floyd-\u00e4hnlichen Lichtinszenierungen auf kreisrunder Video-Leinwand in einen Hort der Rockgeschichte.
