KW-51-2018: Hydra im November 2018 – Auf den Spuren von Leonard Cohen – Reiseimpressionen von Kurt und Erna Pötzschke

    Lieber Christof Graf, anbei – wie versprochen – einige Informationen zu unserer Reise nach Hydra. KW-50-2018: #Leonard_Cohen_and_BRUCE_SPRINGSTEEN. „The Boss“ coverte #Suzanne im Jahre 1967, aber die Version von #Judy_Collins 

Springsteens Band The Castiles spielte am 16. September 1967 bei The Left Foot in Freehold, New Jersey, Suzanne als vorletztes Lied. Die folgenden Informationen stammen von The Castiles… Als der Boss jung war…, veröffentlicht am 29. Juni 2009 in The Clock That Wieder rückwärts gegangen (meine hervorgehoben):
Dies war der große Eröffnungsabend im The Left Foot, einem Club mit über 13 Jahren unter 18, der sich im Erholungszentrum der Episcopal Church von St. Peter in der Throckmorton 37-Straße befindet. „One By One“ und Moby Grapes „Omaha“. Die Inspiration für das oft abgedeckte „Get Out Of My Life, Woman“ war die Paul Butterfield Blues Band-Version. Ebenso die Inspiration für Leonard Cohens „Suzanne“ war die Aufnahme von Judy Collins aus dem Jahr 1966. Obwohl Springsteen möglicherweise Mitte 1965 anfing, hauptsächlich Hintergrundgesang zu singen, ist es klar, dass Bruce zu diesem Zeitpunkt im Mittelpunkt der Band steht. Bruce übernimmt den Lead-Gesang für alle Songs außer "Eleanor Rigby", The Kinks "See My Friends" und The Blues Project's "Steve's Song" (alle von George Theiss).
