Walking Montreal`s Streets – Looking for Cohen Places – Vol. 4

Leonard Cohen’s childhood home, where he spent his youth, is located at 599 Avenue Belmont, Westmount, QC H3Y 2W1, Canada. The large, Tudor-style house sits directly adjacent to King George VI Park (also known as Murray Hill Park). Since approximately 1997/1998—after Leonard Cohen sold the property—it has served as a private residence. The interior of the house is not open to the public. Das Elternhaus von Leonard Cohen, in dem er seine Kindheit und Jugend verbrachte, befindet sich unter der Adresse 599 Avenue Belmont, Westmount, QC H3Y 2W1, Kanada. Das große Haus im Tudor-Stil grenzt direkt an den King George VI Park (auch bekannt als Murray Hill Park). Seit ca. 1997/ 1998, nachdem Leonard Cohebn das haus verkauft hatte, handelt es sich um eine Privatresidenz. Das Haus ist von innen nicht besichtigbar.

If you stand at “1420 Crescent Street” facing the Leonard Cohen [mural] and turn 180 degrees, you are looking directly at the Erskine and American United Church, located at the corner of Rue Sherbrooke Ouest and Rue Crescent. From the „View“ to the “ 1420 Crescent Street“ downtown, where you can find the „Leonard Cohen-Mural“, based on a photograph by Leonard Cohen`s daughter Lorca Cohen. It was inaugurated in time for the first anniversary of Cohen’s death 2017. It was created by a group of artists with the MU collective, specifically El Mac and Gene Pendon.
