On the show, he chose to play Cohen’s ‘Take This Waltz’, saying: “I’ve always loved Leonard Cohen’s voice and his whole approach to the way he sang. He was obviously incredibly sophisticated in the way he sang, but also wrote.
He continued: “I find it very moving, the words are so extraordinary, sort of Salvador Dalí-like – they lead you into this remarkable Dalí-like world.”
His appearance on Private Passions is not the first time Prince Charles has praised Cohen. He previously described him as a “remarkable man” and hailed his orchestration and lyrics as “fantastic”.

KW-35-2022: mal was ganz anderes … und heute wurde der Tod von Michail Gorbatschow bekanntgegeben. Er ist im Alter von 91 Jahren gestorben. In seiner ehemaligen Heimat öffnete er die Sowjetgesellschaft mit Perestrojka und Glasnost. Im Westen wurde er dafür verehrt. 2005 hatte ich die Gelegenheit Michail Gorbatschow und Helmut Kohl beim Radio Regenball Award zu fotografieren. Sie bekamen einen Ehrenaward. something completely different … and today the death of Mikhail Gorbachev was announced. He died at the age of 91. In his former homeland, he opened Soviet society with perestroika and glasnost. In the West, he was revered for it. In 2005 I had the opportunity to photograph Mikhail Gorbachev and Helmut Kohl at the Radio Regenball Award. They received an honorary award.
